Fruit or Vegetable?
In another lesson in science, students were studying the characteristics of different fruits and vegetables and deciding whether the plant they were looking at would be considered a fruit or a vegetable. We learned that fruits come from flowers and have seed on the inside and vegetables do not. Here they are looking at some trying to decide, fruit or vegetable?
Pollination
During one of our lessons in science, students were learning about pollination and how it is important for making new plants. They were then able to make a model of a flower and a bee and practice pollinating a plant of their own!
Fall Party
During our fall party this year, students were challenged to make the tallest structure they could using only toothpicks and candy corn. It was difficult but they came up with some creative ways to do it! Later that day, we watched Charlotte's Web and enjoyed some fun spider and pig cookies!
Blast off!
During one of our social studies chapters, students were pretending to be astronauts and blast off into space. They were then tasked with finding their way back to the community where NASA is located. They had to find the correct hemisphere, continent, country, state, and city! Here we are getting ready for blast off!
